Katelynn has been a part of the Island Massage & Spa team since the doors first opened, and was our first front desk staff member. Daughter of the Owner, Katelynn has enjoyed working part time while learning the ropes of the Spa business as well as the therapeutic benefits of massage. Katelynn is always greeting clients with a cheerful smile and giving them recommendations for local things to do.
Katelynn is a recent graduate from Ashley High School and is attending Miller Motte College in Wilmington for Massage Therapy.
Virgil, a US Army Veteran, spent over 20 years in the Telecommunications Industry. He found the benefits of Massage from his own injuries and pursued a career change with the healing touch of Massage Therapy. He graduated from The College of Wilmington, in Wilmington, NC the Winter of 2015, where he received his certification in Massage and Bodywork Therapy. He believes that receiving massage therapy can benefit not only a person’s body but also their mind and spirit. His mission is to treat every individual according to their specific needs. Each session is customized by integrating massage modalities such as Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy.
Amy attended Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, where she originates from. She continued her education and studied Massage at The New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and has over 17 years of experience as a Massage Therapist. She has traveled and massaged at Spa's all over the country including, Maui, Napa Valley, Colorado, Wyoming and most recently St. John USVI, just to name a few! Amy's specialties include Lymph Drainage, Cranial Sacral & Hot Stone Massage. She customizes each massage to include beautiful blend of her skills for the ultimate relaxation massage.
Amy lives just over the bridge in Wilmington and on her days off she enjoys kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and beach time with her husband and two children.
Jennifer is a native to Wilmington and attended Miller Motte College in Wilmington, for Massage and Bodywork Therapy. She has over 16 years of massage experience, studied many bodywork modalities over her career such as, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Lomi-Lomi and Ortho-bionomy to name a few. She enjoys incorporating techniques from all of her continued studies into her massages to help facilitate for each clients specific needs. Her massages vary from a relaxing Swedish to a Deep Therapeutic Massage.
Jennifer resides on the island and loves all the local and fun that the beach has to offer. She also enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.
Lauren received her esthetics training at Cape Fear Community College in 2016 and her BA of Art History and Studio Art at UNCW in 2008. She is extremely passionate about skincare and is constantly educating herself on the latest products, techniques and trends. Her culmination of education and training have made ethics the perfect career choice for her. Lauren thrives on customizing her treatments to each client’s individual needs. She also strongly believes in client education and likes to give everyone a little take-home skincare knowledge to help the results of the treatment last. When Lauren isn’t in the spa you can find her biking around the island or walking her dachshund at Fort Fisher. She is proud to call Carolina Beach home and is thrilled to take care of the island’s skincare needs!
Katherine has worked in the spa industry for 10 years and is very proud to be a part of the Island Massage & Spa team. Katherine believes whole-heartedly in the value and importance of therapeutic bodywork, skin care and relaxation as essential elements of one’s personal wellness. In her free time she enjoys everything outdoors, traveling, running, kayaking and being at the beach.
She is dedicated to the client experience and strives to provide individualized attention and care to each and every guest, each and every day.
Katrina is a Minnesota native and attended Minneapolis Business College for Business and Graphic Design. With a strong desire to help others, she decided to return back to school to pursue a career in health care, and ultimately ended up finding a passion for Massage. She received her Massage & Bodywork Certification at Miller Motte College in Wilmington, NC. She has over 8 years experience working in Health Care as a Nursing Assistant, Chiropractic Office Manager and Assistant, and now a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist. Her Massage resume also includes Miller Motte College Massage Clinic, Chiropractic Medical Massage, as well as her own private practice in Carolina Beach. She converted her private practice the Spring of 2014 and opened Island Massage & Spa, a family owned and operated, multi service and multi therapist Beach Boutique Day Spa!
Katrina believes in customizing each massage based on the Clients needs that day. She is well known and highly recommended for her intuitive deep pressure, neuromuscular and therapeutic touch, but is more than happy to vary the pressure from light and relaxing to deep by request.
On Katrina's off time, she enjoys living the Good Life as an "Island Local", driving her jeep on the North End, spending time with her friends and most importantly her two teenagers.
